He was surprised to hear that the young man actually had a Dragon Pokemon and he had to admit, it was enough for Chase to reconsider his opinion; however, if the Trainer thought it would make Chase lenient, he was terribly wrong. Chase had seen and trained many Dragon-type in his entire life. He was not going to accept anything less but perfect. Should he spot one fault, he would do whatever it was in his power to correct this man, and should he be unworthy all together, Chase would have to challenge his rights as Trainer to the dragon.
The Trainer did some fancy motion in releasing the Pokeball, which didn't really interest Chase but hadn't displease him as much as Zafaar was. It merely tested his patience, watching the effects be done with so he could see the Pokemon. Chase already had an idea what it was even before the Altaria fully revealed itself. Having spent so much time with Dragon Pokemon, he could sense what species they were by presence alone. An Altaria gave a melodious, heart-resounding aura, something that no other Dragon-type had.
Chase uncrossed his arms, glaring at the Altaria with a scrutinizing gaze. He was completely unaffected by the entrance it did but he had to commend the mixed Dragon-type's elegance and confidence. However, Chase was mostly disappointed; the Altaria's skin didn't look as thick as a Dragon Pokemon should, which should be hard and definite like human muscle. Its cotton feathers were groomed very well - taking care of the feathers was a daunting task - but the wings themselves were lacking in strength. A spread of a dragon's wing should make a noticeable gust but he didn't feel any wind at all.
Despite this, Chase approved. He made a reach to the Altaria's head to pat it. It didn't matter how 'very well-bred' a Pokemon was. In the long run, it was all about a Trainer's bond with his Pokemon. "You're happy. That alone is enough." He smiled slowly, absorbed by the sight of a dragon's joy. However, Chase still needed to say a thing or two to the Trainer. Though he have proved himself to be at least competent, Chase wasn't going to back down until he made his point across.
"I understand what you meant," Chase said toward Symphony, his smile replaced by a solemn expression. "But it seems to me you think you can buy Pokemon in the first place. You can't just use money to get any Pokemon you want. Money has no value for a Pokemon's worth! It's the Trainer's worth that counts! You must treat them equally to respect the peaceful co-existence between humans and Pokemon many of us have worked hard to build and are struggling to maintain. A real Trainer would catch his own Pokemon in the wild, with or without the help of another Pokemon. You don't depend on systems but on your own skills and wit. If you can't do that much then you wouldn't have the future as a Trainer, because a Trainer is the foundation of his team no matter what Pokemon he has."

Therel watched, before he decided to say anything. The situation was confusing, he had no idea what was going on. Though, he does have some concept. Therel was completely focused on the conversation, trying to figure it all out. He's mind was also on the dragon pokemon. They were huge. Therel thought. It would be an amazing challenge to battle one. Maybe all. His mind spun with the possibilities. A grin crept onto his face with out him knowing. His urge for a battle only grew.
As the conversation went on, and as Therel was lost in thought, Conrad was still wrapped in his arms. The little pokemon was frightened of the pokemon he saw in front of him. He watched, as he tried to slip out of his trainers's arms. Therel noticed him wiggling, and placed him on the ground, thinking he wanted to be placed on the ground. When Conrad looked back up at the pokemon he saw that Fou-Lu was coming at him. Conrad made a small noise, and froze where he stood to scared to move. Conrad was only two feet away from Therel when the pokemon made it's move on him. Therel noticed this quickly, but not quick enough. He was able to pick up Conrad, but not able to move out of the way. Instead, Therel was the one being picked up into a bear-hug.

He simply blinks a few times then, without taking his eyes off the pokemon, he taps the big guy. "Um...I think that your pokemon is giving someone the bear hug of their life. I could turn out bad if you don't stop it." He points out clearly.
Sunshine looks down at Alto who bend his head down and sighs. Honestly, it was bad enough already and he knew it. "I'm not stepping in on this one. Two dragon types fight right about now...hm." He says in pokespeak. "Then again, his trainer seems to be good and calm, so maybe I could talk some sense into him."
"Please do so. I'm afraid for that human's health." Sunshine says in pokespeak.
Symphony just looks at two of his pokemon then sighs. "I'm guessing guys, that you have a plan?"
Altaria nods and slowly unfolds its wings to get off the ground just a bit and floats over to the loving Haxorus and pecks it on the head to just get its attention. "Hi, sorry to bother you, but you seem to have a human in your arms. Mind letting him go? I mean, I'm not sure if you know your own strength or his, but you might hurt him."

he didn't really agree, nor did he disagree with what chase was saying. it was true, if his years of training in blackthorn was anything to go by, that there was nothing that could place a price on pokémon, especially dragons - but it seemed that chase wasn't going on and on that. a flicker of satisfaction wormed its way through zafaar, and he smiled slightly. it was about damn time someone experienced one of his lectures. most, if not all of the time, it was him suffering through long speeches and babbling about justice, knowledge and wisdom - and maaaaaybe dragons, but that was few and far between.
still, he didn't have anything against chase. he was a good partner, traveling and training alike, to have. the fact that chase's words rolled right off symphony amused the teenager yet again; perhaps he was the only one, then, who was affected by the edenbreath's words ...
not feeling particularly concerned about the event that was currently unfolding, zafaar merely watched on with a slightly curious eye as to how things were going to solve themselves.

He eyed at the spot Fou-Lu was supposed to be in and then glanced at Jian Liang, who shrugged and pointed at the red-haired Trainer being cuddled. Chase didn’t seem concerned though. Showing affection to humans was just one evidence of a dragon Pokemon’s gentleness. He had never seen Fou-Lu embraced anything that wasn’t a child though. Whoever he was hugging must be a man of pure soul!
“No need to be concerned. Dragon Pokemon are just very expressive and loving. Isn’t that right, Zafaar?” Chase said. Zafaar had been the Fou-Lu’s favorite when the Trainer was younger. “I think he’s overdoing it though…Fou-Lu, stop that at once. You’re being rude.”
Fou-Lu didn’t seem to have heard Symphony’s Altaria but did eventually respond to Chase’s voice. He dropped the Trainer, blinked after realizing it wasn’t the Riolu. When he saw that he got the wrong species, he pouted sadly. Fou-Lu turned around and walked past Alto as if he wasn’t even there and went to Chase’s side.
“We’ll be on our way now,” he said all of a sudden. He had merely wanted to speak with Zafaar to check if he wasn’t being lazy. Chase didn’t want to waste anymore time with idle chatter. He had said what he needed to say, to both Zafaar and Symphony. He had no further reason to stay. “Have a good day. Zafaar, be sure to catch up.”
He turned around, his ponytail whishing in the air, and walked onward with two powerful dragon Pokemon following from behind. There were many things left to be done. He had managed to do good by doing a lecture on young, aspiring Trainers as well as say a piece of his mind toward a rather ambiguous Trainer who had a dragon Pokemon. Now he must continue training in order to be adept for the challenges that were to come.
Iz out of this thread. Now I have two new threads to deal with >_>

since chase was leaving, zafaar took it as his cue to leave as well. he nodded at the rest of them, watched as chase took off towards whereabouts unknown, and decided to move on as well. where to next, he didn't know. it was characteristic of chase and him to separate and somehow meet up again. they knew where the other was going without speaking, it seemed. the trainer glanced at ikram. was she pulling that face again?
ikram was rather impressed by the various pokémon that were walking around, especially the canine that belonged to therel. the pikachu's ears twitched slightly before she was scooped up from the ground and placed on her trainer's shoulder. "we should be going as well." there was a decisive tone in his voice as he spoke, turned, and headed towards the crowds. "can't slack." there finally was a day where zafaar had rather have himself saving kittens and kicking general ass instead of drinking tea in a town, or enjoying smoothies in a sunny city.
his crimson eyes swept across the people present; he gave a nod to them. pulling his cap over his face so that the sun wasn't all bright and shiny to his eyes, he smiled faintly at his charmander before disappearing into the crowds with him.
