Nothing was expected of him but the best until his cockiness had caused an incident in the city, causing the amputation of his father's arm and the exile of his entire family. To regain his honor, he worked hard under the books and sought to never make the same mistake. But his judgment was often foiled with the conflict of his personalities: one that was impatient to work his way up and the other that was too cautious after the incident he had caused. In Chase's teenager years, he worked training non-Dragon Pokemon and sought tutelage from different masters. He wasn't entirely successful until it was clear that his heart was solely on Dragon Pokemon and it was their absence that made him as a Trainer lacking. Finally accepting his mistake, he decided to carry on and return to training Dragon Pokemon by returning to his hometown and seeking forgiveness. He was granted redemption for the wisdom he acquired from his soul-searching. Chase had been extensively traveling all of his life. He met certain people around his age and had been indirectly involved with them through several events. They finally befriended each other and was a group once until Chase had a heated argument with a friend whom he usually got along fine about a certain crime his friend did. Although Chase regretted the words he carelessly said to break their bonds completely, he still believed that he was not wrong. He was contented just traveling and training with his Dragon Pokemon. His entire life was dedicated in serving them to make them reach their full potential. Chase occasionally worked to help people out with his Pokemon, a kind of message he wanted to deliver that Dragon Pokemon were not violent and destructive but co-existed with every person just like any other Pokemon. Chase works as a part-time police officer and sometimes volunteers for Ranger duties to preserve the wildlife. He is quite known within small communities because of his contributions (and someone using a Dragon Pokemon was hardly forgettable). When he heard news of Pokemoshika, he thought of it thoroughly and decided that he would be the one to bring honor to his hometown for the glory of all Dragon Pokemon by being the first Dragon-type Gym Leader of Johto.[/style] [style=float: right; height: 100px; width: 100px; align: center; text-align: center; background: #ffffff; border: 1px solid #000000; margin-left: 10px;][/style][style=margin-right: 110px; height: 200px; width: 315px; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 7.5pt; line-height: 8.5pt; background: #ffffff; border: 1px solid #000000; color: #000000; padding: 10px; overflow: auto;] HUA︱DRAGON︱DEINO︱MALE For every dream, there are challenges and for Chase, it was this Deino. The Deino and its evolution line were considered to be the most violent of all Dragon-type Pokemon and the danger it posed to anyone required skilled professionals to train them. Chase, who wanted people to see Dragon Pokemon as a friendly species, took up the challenge by training Hua and using him to help people. Easier said than done as Hua shows total aggressiveness and brutality and rarely listens to Chase's words. Chase was not even close to losing hope and continues to persist in his goal. ZUKO︱DRAGON/FLYING︱SALAMENCE︱MALE When Chase was forgiven by the people, it was revealed that the Dragon egg to be given to him before the incident had hatched and was waiting for Chase to this day. Zuko was a rather petite Bagon but Chase – though overwhelmed at that time – did not hesitate to take him in and start training. Having grown without a partner, Zuko was rather timid and passive to Chase's enthusiasm. Zuko took the longest to evolve but Chase exercised patience (as his token of apology for not being with him) to have Zuko see the world and make him “dream,” a key to a Bagon's evolution. Zuko was not as unresponsive as before but he remained to be quiet and bashful most of the time. However, Zuko's eyes always sparkled with life and his roar was the most beautiful cry Chase had ever heard. JIAN LIANG︱DRAGON/GROUND︱GARCHOMP︱MALE Jian Liang was supposed to be Chase's first Pokemon as a Trainer after his exile, having been the child of his mother's Garchomp. Chase however refused to train a Dragon Pokemon, believing he had not proven himself worthy and left Jian Liang in the house. While Jian Liang didn't suffer abandonment issues, he was forever hurt by the rejection, thinking he might not have been strong enough. Jian Liang evolved himself to a Gabite and was ecstatic when Chase returned years later and offered Jian Liang to accompany him to his journey back to his hometown. FOU-LU︱DRAGON︱HAXORUS︱MALE An old time friend, Fou-Lu has been with Chase since it was an Axew, along with Zuko and Jian Liang. When Chase was welcomed back to Blackthorn City, he was soon tasked to train the Axew to its full potential. Chase successfully evolved Fou-Lu into a Haxorus within two and a half months after rigorous training in the Dragon's Den. The greatest challenge of course was taming the Dragon as it got stronger, which Chase passed with flying colors. Fou-Lu is still quite young and shows friendliness especially to human children. SHUI︱DRAGON︱DRAGONAIR︱MALE Despite being a Dragon Pokemon, Shui was not originally Chase's. He received Shui from his former friend upon retiring before they had had the argument. Chase named Shui in honor of him who specialized in Water-Type Pokemon. Shui has a spiritual connection with his former master but gets along well with Chase even with the strain between his masters. Shui is peaceful and calm, usually appearing at ease and in control. PC: None. He does not even use the PC. His old Pokemon were kept at home or in the Dragon Cave, working and living with the people there. Most of them have new Trainers already, all of whom Chase approves.[/style] [style=float: left; height: 100px; width: 100px; align: center; text-align: center; background: #ffffff; border: 1px solid #000000; margin-right: 10px;][/style] [style=margin-left: 110px; height: 150px; width: 315px; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 7.5pt; line-height: 8.5pt; background: #ffffff; border: 1px solid #000000; color: #000000; padding: 10px; overflow: auto;]OUT OF CHARACTER NAME: Tanz OTHER CHARACTERS: Eliseo Luiz FACE CLAIM: SUIKODEN 2 & 3, futch SAMPLE POST: Though he had anticipated this, Seed was not prepared for the pang of sadness as the cacophony of the thousands of faceless people in the stands reverberate with distant echoes of the same time he was standing in front of the field and against another Trainer. The ghostly picture in his head blurred the lines in his vision as it eventually replaced the entire scene before him. Six years ago, he was in the exact spot. He remembered the crowd being even bigger and the field more grandiose. His heart was beating hard but his face was scrunched in concentration. The field before him was an aquatic area, the territory of his Pokemon, and the Trainer he was up against was older and more mature, his eyes watching him quell his anxiety hastily while his arms were crossed and strong, a sign of his year-long tenacity in important battles. But now it was as if he had been standing when six years had gone by and everything had been reversed. The audience could only boom half the volume his ears had heard and his beloved water before him had frozen into a thick ground of ice. His heart did not beat rapidly - it seemed to be even mellow and slow. There was no obvious weakness in his face or the trembling in his hands. And when he looked up, he did not see the wiser Trainer, but a boy who was his age when he entered the Sinnoh Pokemon League. Seed would have given him a smile but it had slipped out of his mind just as the past breezed through him like the wind pushing from behind. Seed plucked the Pokeball from his belt and with the signal from the referee, Seed tossed it in the air to summon his first Pokemon. “Alakazam!” He waited for the young man called Black to call his own Pokemon and perhaps even let him call the first move.
