Alora Darcie burst through the doors of a shopping center in Castelia city, a huge smile resting on her face. Picasso the Smeargle was with her at her side, dragging a line of paint down the rough concrete of the streets, making a path of bright orange. Alora didn't even notice, she was too busy oohing and aahing at all the clothes and jewelry in shop windows, giggling at any mayhem she saw on the streets between one shop and another.
"What a great day, right Picasso~" She put her hand on the smeargle's head and ruffled his fur. The smeargle looked up at her and made a 'smerr' noise, which Alora took to be a good sound. Alora turned her head towards the docks, pulling herself away from the shops. The bags in her hands were heavy with clothes and Poképroducts she found cute.
The sea was a shimmering blue. She thought back on her journey here. So many boats, and even a plane. Even being sick being on the water, Alora still found it very nice to look at. She sighed and took a seat on a bench, Smeargle still leaving a trail of tangerine purposefully. The light from the bright sun danced on the water, but there wasn't much heat from it.
Alora pulled at the little bows on her blue cotton shorts, her top hanging off one shoulder with a thin brown-leather belt at the waist. She kicked a pebble near her foot into the sea with her greek-style lacy sandal, simply looking at the water for a while. Smeargle painted a big X on the concrete as Alora didn't bother looking...

castelia was intimidating, to say the least. buildings that scraped the skies and salarymen were everywhere. it was a far cry from how cherrygrove looked - quaint, calm, where the people worked at a more relaxed pace - not like this city. not at all. even goldenrod was smaller, and that was saying something about johto ... unova was different, it seemed. everything was more technologically advanced, and things had evolved from something as simple as a pokégear to an xtransreceiver. too much hassle, and too many adapters to count, in the trainer's opinion.
he squinted, for the sun was bright. behind him, a large stingray rose from the water; khalif slowly shifted to float over zafaar, acting like some sort of brilliant blue parasol. upon his shoulder, a pikachu perched - ikram - while playing with a strange gadget that was handed to him. "what's that, ikram?" the boy questioned, casting a glance at the electric-type. she shrugged, tucking it into one of his many pockets.
he got no answer, but was unfazed. "fine, then," he responded, a smile tugging at the edges of his mouth; it wasn't a genuine one, but it said that he was willing to look past her lack of response. after years spent with ikram, zafaar knew better than to hold a grudge against someone whom he'd known for so long. his sneakers thudded dully against the pavement, but their direction was clear: deeper into the city he'd go. however, the pikachu wouldn't have that, no; she knew of something better they could do.
khalif, over there! i see a - "chaaa!"
ikram's noticing of an ice-cream truck was soon replaced by raised hackles and a sudden, cold rush that swept along her sides like waves. what the heck? she grumbled, arms crossed, eyes falling upon her assailant - picasso the smeargle. he'd painted a cross on the ground, indeed he did, but at the same time, some paint had gotten onto her bright yellow fur. khalif floated serenely above ikram, while zafaar cautiously approached his pokémon. "ikram? ... khalif?" he glanced upwards, at the mantine. no answer. "... what happened."[/blockquote]

Picasso circled the cross with fresh orange paint, only looking up to find that he had misplaced a few strokes here or there on other Pokémon. Making a small jump into the air, the Smeargle went towards the yellow Pokémon with the paintbrush soaked in more goop, eager to rectify his error by sufficient blending. It was, in his opinion, the best solution to an artistic err.
Alora heard Zafaar speak,'What happened', and turned around only then. She noticed her smeargle, finally, approaching another pokémon with the paintbrush. "Picassooo~

" She called to him in a sing song voice. The Smeargle turned, reluctantly returning to Alora's side with a sound that said he was unsatisfied with unfinished work. " I'm sorry! Picasso is just very expressive!!" She got up off the seat, leaving her bags behind her after pulling out a napkin from one, moving to Ikram and tried to wipe at the creature's fur. She smiled up at Zafaar, " You seem to be travelling around, based on your pokémon... So am I!! Sorry for any inconvenience or whatever, Picasso just does what he wants." Her smile turned into a small smirk, barely noticeable. " No hard feelings, right?" [/div] words;; 197 tags;; red notes;; <3

ikram shrieked out of shock and surprise; she wasn't used to this kind of thing in the least. the pikachu scampered away from picasso's reach. electricity danced from her cheek pouches, and she was ready to snap at the smeargle should he come closer. stay the cuss away from me! hissed ikram, meaning every single word she said. she was ready to back those words up with a swift jolt of electricity, if alora hadn't called picasso back in time. even then, she'd have struck if the artist pokémon hadn't gone back to his trainer.
she allowed herself to be wiped, but her fur was visibly on end. ikram glared up at alora as she was rubbed down, not in the least pleased to be on the receiving end of a a paintbrush-like tail. the pikachu shook herself, then darted over to picasso. she prodded him with her tail, frowned, and cried in a manner that demanded an apology from him.
"it's fine," zafaar responded in his baritone voice, "i doubt some trainers would take kindly to those treatment, however." his face was mostly expressionless as he voiced his opinion to the female teenager. she let her pokémon do what they wanted ... ? it was no surprise how she allowed picasso to paint on ikram, then, he reasoned. his hands slipped into his jeans pockets as he turned his gaze to the canine, who was evidently displeased at being disrupted from completing what could potentially have been a masterpiece.
"not on my end. it'd more likely be the pokémon having hard feelings."
