Her hand was holding her Pokemon, Abra's hand, and in her small backpack was a yellow and black egg. Her short blond hair swished in the soft breeze, her dark red eyes darted around the new city. Abra....Hungie? she asked her companion. Abraa, |
this psychic type hummed looking up at his trainer. The little girl nodded and walked over to a open cafe. Her small hand pushed on the large door. It swung open freely and Luca skipped in lightly, making sure her egg doesn't fall. Propping herself up on a free table, she swung her bag off of her back and onto the table softly. Touching her two fingers to her mouth, then placed them softly onto her egg. Her legs swung freely under the table. Abra climbed up onto the seat next to Luca. He hummed softly, looking at the window. Luca tilted her head cutely and looked out of the window too. Nothing but strangers passing by was there. Luca tilted her head the other way and froward. Shaking her head, she looked up at the waitress who was standing at their table. Ahh...Water and Pokefood pleasee, she smiled sweetly. The lady nodded and walked off with the girl's small order. The egg shook slightly, rocking the table. Luca smiled and hugged the egg lightly, having the dewiness rub off from her egg onto her white dress.[/style]

[style=font-size:9px; font-weight:bold;]ASK DON'T TELL BY COMATOSE @ OTE[/style]

After months of working extra homework and taking advanced lessons to rush the remaining six-month curriculum, Eliseo had finished a year in the Trainers' School. It had been so much stress and pressure getting the workload done. Behind his back, he could hear the story circulating around his strange curriculum. His classmates kept thinking he was a special kid, a genius Trainer, that he needed to have his own schedule. They justify this self-made decision purely out of his family background; his sister and mother were both scientists and researchers, including several of his relatives on his mother's side. Eliseo had explained to his friends that this was not the case. He told them that he was scheduled to travel so he had to leave school earlier. But the story continued to circulate and now he was carrying the mantle of the school like a hero. He was just going to travel, not become a Trainer!
He wasn't relieved until he left the school grounds. He could stand his classmates starring at him in awe about how high his scores were, but he didn't like it when teachers did the same. A part of him hated them for it and wished they just shut up, but guilt gnawed his heart. He knew they were only trying to encourage him, but he felt even more weakened at their expectant smiles and ambitious words about his future.
Eliseo felt the world had suddenly changed. He wasn't going to wake up early and go to school anymore. He wouldn't be spending afternoons playing with his friends anymore. Tomorrow, he would be out in the world, alone.
Looking back, he felt excited at the prospect of adventuring. He might have had pretty good scores in Trainers' School, enough to rank in the top fifteen, but he hated studying with a passion. He was more of a hands-on guy, thinking on his feet kind of thing. He wanted to learn while having fun. An adventure was exactly the perfect kind of schooling for Eliseo where experience would teach him everything he needed, not books; however, now that he was seeing it up close, he shrunk back, intimidated. Was he biting something more than he could chew?
He listened attentively to his family's discussion of Pokemoshika as he ate his rice. He already knew the rumor of an upcoming tournament between the best Trainers in the world. Eliseo would certainly be there to watch it up close or he would lose his childhood forever.
His onyx eyes landed on the door where a girl had just arrived with her Abra. Eliseo was watching expectantly for her family to follow. When they were no signs of them, he was surprised. Was the girl alone? And what was that on her arms? He stopped eating all together and checked from where he was seated. An egg?
Was she a Trainer?
Eliseo's heart pounded quickly. She couldn't be older than him. How could she be a Trainer? Yet she sat there alone with her Pokemon and egg, contentment easily read from her smooth smile. Eliseo was intently starring at the girl he had not noticed conversation on the table had stopped and two pairs of eyes were watching Eliseo.
He turned to his mother and sister. He needed to find out. "Mom, sis, I'm going to talk to that girl for a sec. She's...er...a schoolmate of mine. I'm going to ask why she isn't in school when it's school hours."
The two women exchanged silent glances. To Eliseo's surprise, they immediately allowed him.
"Sure, go ahead-"
"No problem at all, Eli-
"Go talk to her for as long as you want-
"-take your time!"
Eliseo arched an eyebrow. "Okay..." he drawled dubiously. "Well...see ya..."
"Wait, Eli!" his sister said. She pulled out her purse and handed him cash. "For your friend," she said, winking.
"You don't have to. I have my own money," Eliseo said.
"Take it!" his sister insisted, shoving the money on his hands.
Eliseo scratched his head, accepting the money. He loved his sister but it was just tad unnecessary to force him take money when he wasn't even going to need it, unless the girl needed a penny for her every word. He waved a hand goodbye and left the table. He walked toward the girl's table and greeted her. For some reasons, he could feel his family's gaze on him, watching his every move.
"Hi," Eliseo said, ignoring the feeling. "Are you alone? Do you mind if I sit with you? I just wanted to ask why you're alone and with a Pokemon and an egg. Where are your parents?[/style] |
